Due to specialised flooring, any damages will incur extra cost for repairs.

Booking Terms & Conditions:

Bookings: All booking applications must be in writing on the booking form provided.  The person signing this form will be considered the Hirer. Where an organisation is named in the application the organisation will also be considered the Hirer and shall be jointly and severally liable with the person who signs this form.

The booking may be cancelled by either party by giving 2 week’s notice. A full refund of all advance deposits and hire charges will be made in the event of cancellation in accordance with this condition.

Provisional bookings: May be made either verbally or in writing by contacting the St Marks Church Centre office.

Confirmed bookings: Bookings are considered provisional until confirmed in writing, either by return of the attached booking form, or by submitting a booking form through our website ( In the event of a confirmed booking being cancelled with less than 2 week’s notice the organiser will be charged an administrative fee of £25.00 for the Auditorium, £10.00 for the David Piper Room and £15.00 for the Fitness suite.

Payment: Payment must be received two weeks before event date or within 21-days of being invoiced.

Prices indicated allow for functions to finish no later than 10.30pm. Additional charges will be incurred if our members of staff run into overtime whilst preparing, serving or clearing functions outside these periods.

Where the purpose for which the premises are hired includes dancing, the Hirer shall not cause or allow the maximum number of patrons and/or guests admitted to exceed the number specified on the application form.

Menu: special dietary requirements and other information relating to your booking must be sent to St Marks Office at least two weeks before the date of the function. A set menu should be chosen by event organisers for their entire group. A choice of menus cannot be provided for formal meals except for vegetarian or other special dietary requirements.

Final numbers: must be confirmed in writing at least 5 full working days prior to the date of the function. Accounts will be based upon the final number, or the attendance figure, whichever is the greater.

Supervision and Responsibility: The Hirer will during the period of the hiring be responsible for supervision of the premises, the fabric and the contents, their care, safety from damage however slight and the behaviour of all persons using the premises.

Exclusions: The Hirer shall not use the premises for any purposes other than that described in the Hiring Agreement and shall not sub-hire or use the premises or allow the premises to be used for any unlawful purpose or in any unlawful way, nor do anything to bring on to the premises anything which may endanger the premises or any insurance policies connected with the premises.

Music:  The Hirer undertakes to satisfy any requirements under performing rights for the performing or playing of live or recorded music.  Any Hirer who intends to play music or have a live band agrees to inform the PCC in writing at the time of booking.  The Hirer undertakes to ensure that all noise is kept to a level such that neighbours of the church premises are not unduly disturbed.

COMPLETION OF DAY HIRE:  At the end of hiring the Hirer shall be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounds in a clean and tidy condition properly locked and secured unless directed otherwise by authorised representatives of the PCC and any contents temporarily removed from their usual positions properly replaced. Should this not be complied with the PCC reserves the right to make an additional charge. (All bins should be emptied, chairs, tables put away and locked on trolley)

Insurance: St Mark’s Church insurance covers public liability claims where St Marks is deemed to be liable. The organisation making the booking shall indemnify St Marks Church PCC against damage to our property caused by those attending the function. There will be a refundable deposit fee of £100.00 paid to St Marks Church PCC for large events, once booking is confirmed. This will be refunded after the event provided there is no damage to our property.

The Hirer shall not interfere in any way with the switchboard, electricity or gas fittings, meter fittings or fixtures on the premises.  It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that the electricity supply is appropriate for any equipment used and that any equipment used will not endanger, overload or damage the electricity supply, circuits, wiring, plugs, sockets, switchboards or other equipment. In anticipation of an emergency it is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that he knows the location of first aid kits, the nearest hospital.

Smoking Policy: Smoking is prohibited on or in any part of the St Marks Church Centre premises.

Child Protection Statement: The Hirer accepts full responsibility for ensuring that an appropriate Child Protection Procedure is in place and is observed by all persons on the premises involved with children and young persons under the age of 18 during the course of the event for which the premises have been hired.  The Hirer agrees to ensure that all adults present on the premises are aware of this Procedure and abide by it.  The Hirer confirms that, where necessary under the terms of the Child Protection Procedure, appropriate Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks will be carried out in respect of persons involved with children and young people on the premises during the course of the hiring.


GDPR: St Marks PCC takes your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to raise invoices, coordinate your event and provide you with the services you have requested from us.  We will not pass your details to other organisations
